DEMAND TURBOTAX NOT TO DISCONTINUE CD FOR 2024 TAX YEAR

My hard drive crashed years ago and even though I had the TurboTax files backed up, they were useless without the CD. If TurboTax provides an option for re-downloading the software in the event of a computer crash, that's one thing. If not, the consumer is either out of luck or has to buy another download.

@Tom 1108 You can download the software and any time for any reason for up to three years from the date of purchase at no charge.

@Tom 1108   Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account when you first install it, all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac) you can download it again.

MAKE IT QUICK, GET YOUR SOFTWARE TEAM TO ADD AN ISO FILE SO WE CAN BURN ARE OWN CDs or PROVIDE THEM A A LATER DATE!!!

I HAVE BOUGHT CDs FOR WELL OVER A DECADE FROM TURBO TAX.

I CAN GO ELSEWHERE FROM YOUR COMPETITORS TO GET A CD....

@RadarBob62   You should read the posts in this thread and you would know this already.

You will not find a CD from the competing software companies----they have all eliminated CD's this year.   They all just have downloads.    You can purchase the TurboTax desktop download and after you have your license key, if you really want a CD, you can pay an extra $10 to hav e them send you one.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return.  You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return.  The state e-file fee is $20 and increases to $25 in March.

My internet connection sucks. This makes it so difficult to connect and do updates and send my return to the irs. In 2023 the return failed to send I I had no idea for months.
So now I have to try to download the software off the internet. What about the people that don’t have internet? 
I’m so disappointed in your companies decision to do this. It’s already been proven how unstable and unreliable the internet is and everyone stealing your information.

I agree. I think it is a bad idea to discontinue the CD. It makes me think twice about using TT.

I was able to download TurboTax fron Intuit's website. However the download would not install the software. I tried to do it on 4 different computers----same result.

I called support and got a tech named "clueless".

He tried to take me on deep dive to change something in the OS which I had no clue what to do. Before we even started that, he changed his mind and wanted to try something else. I declined. I told him I would just order the CD from TurboTax, which you can get from the TurboTax website for $10. He had no idea that this was an option.

If it's not broken, fix it until it is. 

I would tell Intuit to shove it but I would only be hurting myself. I have been a TurboTax user for almost 20 years. I think the program is great.

Since they sell the 2024 cd on their website ($10), I suspect I am not the only one who had this problem.
