Data import from a current version of Quicken consistently fails with the message "There seems to be some issue importing the Quicken data. ..."

Hi, has TurboTax given you a solution to this that doesn't involve exporting a TXF from Quicken? Or, do you know if they have an update pending to fix the issue? Like you, I,ve been doing this for over 20 years, and haven't had a problem until this year. Customer support is useless.

Using Turbotax desktop 2024, and Quicken premier via subscription.

Import from Quicken into Turbotax is broken as of February 2025.   I've been importing from Quicken for over 20 years with no issues before now.

I'm sorry you've been unable to Import from Quicken after successfully doing so for many years.  Have you reached out to Quicken Support or TurboTax Support?

I could find no current investigations regarding this issue.

Here's some info for Troubleshooting TurboTax Desktop Issues and also for a Manual Update.

You should report this problem with Quicken Support.

https://www.quicken.com/support/#contact-support

Also, you can report it through Quicken itself.

Go to Help then down to Report a Problem.

This problem I believe first showed up about 3 years ago.

It the takes Quicken months to fix, but only when enough people complain.

Thanks Marilyn,

I did just speak to someone at TT support, who told me that her manager had informed her that TurboTax is "moving away from Quicken"  in favor of QuickBooks.  This sounds profoundly misdirected, but the bottom line is that she suggested I proceed with a workaround.

This is pretty amazing, especially given that the menus in TT still offer both Quicken and QuickBooks as sources for importing tax data.

Thanks.

I have reported this through Quicken, but (see my recent reply to Marilyn), I am not optimistic that there will be any resolution soon.

Very disappointing to think Q and TT might be splitting up. I've been using both for decades, always been pleased with results. I did find a sort-of work-around for this issue: in Quicken, under "File", click on "File Export"; click on "Export tax data in Turbo-Tax-compatible format (TXF)". I got a menu of files after opening the resulting TXF file in TT and found a lot of the info in them.

I used this method to transfer info for rental properties. The data transferred was incomplete, but it helped. The income and expense info was there but not the property characteristics that don't change from year-to-year like property type, address, etc.
