To chat with a representative you must use TurboTax Live's chat feature.  This feature is available 7 days a week, from 5 AM to 9 PM PT.

 

To access the chat feature:

 

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax Live account.
  2. Select Live Help on your screen.
  3. Select Connect with live help, enter your question, and select Continue.
  4. On the next screen, select Chat. Enter your details and select Get a chat. You will be connected with a specialist as soon as possible.
  5. When you’re finished, close out of the chat box and select Exit chat.

If you minimize or lose your chat conversation, select Live Help to reopen your chat window and continue.

I want to know why I have a bill of $140. If I have to pay this I’ll no longer use this service

What type of bill did you receive?

Was this for TurboTax or federal taxes owed or state taxes owed?

Did you use TurboTax for the 2023 tax return and did you request to have the TurboTax account fees paid from the Federal tax refund?

Please verify what product you ended up using.   If you used Online TurboTax, log in and go to the Tax Home.   In the top left corner, underneath the TurboTax logo does it say Free Edition, Deluxe, Premium, Live Basic, Live Deluxe, etc.?

 

Sometimes people upgrade to a higher edition because of certain items in their return, or accidentally end up in the Live product, which is more expensive since it provides a tax expert at will for help in preparing the return as well as a final review of the return by the expert.   Did you end up in a Live product?

 

And did you have both a Federal return and a state return?

i cant find how to chat, i need help! for 3 weeks now I cannot download NY state taxes. I have premier, I have NJ but i keep getting errors with NYS, i must have it, help. I was on the phone for an hour yesterday and then your agent disconnected me!!

 Sorry you're having trouble.  This is mainly a user community forum.  Instead of this old thread which is less likely to be seen by the bulk of the forum, start a new thread dedicated to your issue with "New York state" in the title, and hopefully, someone familiar with the NY state return will see it.  You can start a new thread under state topics by filling the form at this link:

In that form, describe your issue in full, such as what happens when you are trying to get the NY state program into your desktop software.  If you already have NJ as the state software included in your product, there is an extra $40 fee to add on the NY state program.

When trying to add a 1099R the page continues to try to load. The circle continues to turn but no page.

Try clearing your cache and deleting your cookies. Review the TurboTax Help article How to clear your cache and How do I delete cookies? for specific instructions for your browser. Also, reboot your computer.

How do you change direct deposit information? I’ve followed every step given and there is just no option to edit it.

I have been assigned to work with Crystal C., Turbo Tax  Intuit. The latest I heard from her was when she told me that the return has been completed and is ready for the review.  She was also asking for my available time on March 27th.  I told her my available time.  However, she did not respond since then just wondering what happens.  I would like to complete it as soon as possible.
