So you were able to import form JPMorgan securities?? I have tried, but after I enter my sign on and PW and click on the spot for "get code" absolutely nothing happens. It is as if I am not clicking on it at all. I am wondering if it is because my sign on info is with Chase Bank, not JP Morgan?? I know my sign on info is correct because I go into my account every day - at least once. Do you have a Private Client account with them, as well as a Checking Account?
I also tried Chase Bank and got the same message that you got. This is so incredibly aggravating - if I just have dividends , not big deal, but the reason I paid $70 for TT Premier is so I could import the info. Every other year, Chase Investments has shown up. Just hard for me to understand why not this year.
I am curious if other people on this site have tried other tax software. I have been using TT for years (just skipped last year - had my accountant do my taxes) but after this fiasco, I doubt I will ever use them again.
I really feel I am going nuts!! On my screen "get your identification code" does not show up in blue - it is just in black- like the rest of the paragraph. And when I click on it - nothing happens. I have it open now - and just tried it again (for about the 50th time). What am I doing wrong?
I am going to turn off my computer and turn it back on again, but since i shut it down last night, and JP Morgan Securities is still not working, I am guessing it will not make a difference.
I downloaded it from Costco-- does that make a difference?
Thank you for the info -- but you do know the problem here is that "Chase Investments" does not show this year-- only Chase Bank??So many people are saying to use JPMorgan Investments, but that is not working for me.
No problems in the past, but hard to click on something that does not show.
Yes, by selecting JP Morgan Securities, I can import my "Chase investment" accounts. I have a Chase Investment manager not a J.P. Morgan advisor.
Once I select JP Morgan securities, I get to a login screen asking for username,id code and password
Before I do anythin else, I look to the bottom for the "GET ID CODE" which in my case is a hyperlink,
That takes me the normal Chase login screen (user name and password) on the Web. once I login it asks where I want to code sent. I can then close out the chase webpage, and wiat for my code to arrive via email or text message.
Within turbotax, I can then input the username, id code and password and after 10-15 seconds the accounts to be downloaded appear
But the obtain id code is a hyperlink within turbotax and in my case is in blue (not black)
No, place of purchase does not matter
Thank you again - but for some reason my "get the code" is not a hyperlink or in blue - just black like the rest of the paragraph.
I wish I could make a copy of the screen so people know I am not going crazy!! I just restarted my computer but that did not make a difference (which I had already figured).
I figured place of purchase should not make a difference but I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong.
I certainly appreciate your help though.
THANK YOU!!!!
Looks Chase Invest is not exit, or wrong for turbo tax. its JP Morgan Securities, unfortunately some of the CD version, don't show the link for "Get The Identification Code". Where to click, no link ?
How to get Pin from Chase, the link to "Get Your Identification Code" is not working. I am using Turbo Tax Home and Business CD version.
How did you find Get Your Code link
Thanks. J.P. Morgan Securities works.
Many people who do use this forum may not know this fix. It's Turbotax's fault for making it different from the previous year.
They can simply code "J.P. Morgan Securities LLC (Chase)" so that when people type "Chase", J.P. Morgan Securities also shows up.
The software is as good as the people who coded it.
Glad it worked for you.
Its clear that there was a lack of coordination on both turbotax and chase on this. Chase.com continues to show (as of Saturday PM) Chase INvestments as download source which clearly incorrect. Turbotax continues to show Chase Investments as import partner.
The fact that Chase/JP Morgan securities is allowing Turbotax customers to access chase investment customers data strongly suggests that both parties approved (otherwise there is a bigger security issue!!)
What is clear is the lack of clear communications to Chase INvestment clients on the part of both parties.
If you have made it to the login screen (asks for username, ID code, password), it will be the last line of that screen above the action buttons
it should be blue underlined hyperlink to the chase login screen
Having tried importing my Chase 1099's since 2/19, I FINALLY got the import to work.
I searched for "Morgan" and selected "JP Morgan Securities" then followed the instructions for the Chase one time code at the bottom of the screen and entered the requested information and SUCCESS at last.
Good luck fellow Chase 1099 folks!!!
No I never did get it to work. There is no link to click on. But having said that, I see there are a few other people complaining about the same thing - so I am glad I am not going crazy - and other people are having the same problem.
Just so strange that some people have a link to click on , and others, like myself do not..
