Cannot add return for different person

Hi.  I am trying to prepare returns for myself and my daughter.  I understand that you cannot file two returns on one account and that I need to create a new user ID for the second filing.  

 

However, I cannot figure out how to do this:  if I try to create a new account, once I enter my email address, it says there is an account already registered to that address (which of course there is).  How can I create a second user ID with the same email address?

The same email address can be used with up to 5 TurboTax online accounts.

To create a new account with a new User ID, click on Sign up at the following website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/file-your-own-taxes/

This does not work.  As soon as I click "Sign Up" it takes me to a screen to enter my email address.  When I enter my address, it indicates that this email has already been used (which of course it has, since I am using that for another account).

 

How do I create a new user ID using the same email address?

Sorry, no luck.  This is pretty frustrating.

 

Regarding the instructions referred to in the last post:

 

  1. First, sign out of your account (otherwise, you'll be thrown into a loop in step 2).
  2. Go to our Let's get you signed in page.
  3. Enter your email address, phone number, or user ID.
  4. We'll send a code to either your email address or your phone. Enter the code we've sent you.
  5. We'll show you a list of your accounts. Select the one you want to sign in to.

 

Once I pass step 4, I get right into my main dashboard.  There is no list of accounts.  When I access my account info, I see only one user ID, which is the same as my email address.  There is no clear way to add another user ID using the same email address.
