I started my return but after a while was told to install updates.  When they were installed, all of a sudden a 16-digit activation code was required.  ButI never have received such a code!  WHAT TO DO??

You had to enter it before you started a return.  So you must have it around somewhere.  Did you buy the CD?  Or download the program?  Where did you buy it from?

I have lost my disc after I installed the 2020 TT and now the program is asking for an activation code making it impossible to open the tax forms I have already prepared

Make sure your computer is the same way when you originally installed it.  Like with no flash drives plugged in or plugged in if one was.  It asked me again so I just closed the program and took out a flash drive that was plugged in and tried again.  It worked.  Or you may need to connect a flash drive or printer or something that was connected when you originally installed the program.

You need a 14 digit (for 2019) or 16 digit (for 2020) License Code to activate the Desktop program.

The program was installed, used and exited, now cannot get back in.

Hi All,

The solution I found for this issue was to simply EXIT TurboTax then remove ALL removeable drives/USB/flash/photo chips from the computer with TurboTax. Then start TurboTax again. Mine did not ask for the activation code again and ran without issues.

Trying to access my 2020 tax returns and the system is asking for my "license code", which I know longer have. Can this be resent to me?

I activated my product, purchased an additional state from TurboTax, electronically filed state taxes in two states (paid fee to TurboTax), performed many product updates, (thanks to government & TurboTax) and this evening when I tried to check for a future tax credit, it asked to perform an update and after being told the typical "it's taking longer than normal" it asked for my activation code! This is not what I paid for!!

Removing the flash/jump drive worked for me.  The program started properly once I removed it.

It is really annoying that I have to re-input the code. Thankfully it works after re-inputting the code. But I am concerned with possible situations  that it refuses the code at 5/17 when I am trying to file my return.

This is getting bad.  No activation code with confirmation email of purchase and not in downloads per their guidance.

Better it it together asap!  I am dead in the water.
