Sorry the Online version price is only for federal. You have to pay for state. And the Online fees are to prepare the returns whether you efile or print and mail. You have to pay the fees to see the whole return. Yes you can save it as a pdf and print it out and mail it.
The Online version is only good for 1 return so to do another you have to set up another account and pay the fees again.
In Online it is called Deluxe and Premium. Premium is the new online name for desktop Premier.
And....it is still not clear why you are so dead set on using the laptop. With the desktop download that you already have on your PC you can prepare and e-file up to five federal returns and their associated state returns. The only extra cost for using that software would be the state e-file fee. You can even prepare more than five returns on the PC if the other ones are filed by mail.
@jyeh74 Here's another post that might help clear it up. Hope it doesn't confuse you more.
@VolvoGirl If it’s only $99 for online federal, how much extra is state? I think I read about $40 per state.
The desktop version is cheaper than that and includes federal + state. Why would anyone choose online assuming have windows 11?
I don't know if I am replying in the correct thread. I upgraded/ to a new windows 11 Pro desktop last November because I read Turbotax would not support windows 10 in 2025. I just downloaded the Turbotax 2025 Home and Business. I bought the activation code @ Costco. It installs but will not open. I just get a blank error. I tried uninstalling, turning off antivirus and firewall and installing as administrator. My new desktop meets all of the requirements. Does anyone know what the problem could be? It should not be this difficult to open up. It wont open to allow me to put in the activation code.
@jyeh74 Sounds like you are looking at Online Premium for $99? That version is the Online version for Desktop Home & Business. Go here and click on State Additional under the price. It's currently $39

Yeah but if you’re paying $99 for online federal and then you have to pay another $39 for online state, that’s more than the desktop version. So I’m wondering why anyone would off this way over the desktop version assuming the operating system isn’t the inhibitor.
