There is no place to specify 2023 overpayment is to be applied to 2024 taxes. The explanations provided on this board does NOT work for Turbotax Premium!

Here is how you can include your 2023 overpayment to 2024 in TurboTax Online, with a screenshot from Premium:

This doesn’t work?
If it didn't transfer over from last year then enter a refund from last year that you applied to this year here. BUT first make sure it's not already there. You don't want to apply it twice.
To enter last year's refund you applied to this year.
Federal (Personal for Home & Business)
Deductions and Credits
Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
Other Income Taxes - Click the Start or Revisit
Next page scroll down to 2023 Refund Applied to 2024
Click Start or Update by the tax you applied
there is another place where you can enter the 2023 overpayment applied to 2024. there is a carryover worksheet where a federal overpayment applied to 2024 can be entered,
I don't need a add an overpayment applied, I need to remove an overpayment applied. I am also trying to do this in Premium and there is no place to change the amount that Turbo Tax brought over from 2023. Does anyone know how to help?
To enter or delete a Federal or State Refund from last year that you applied to this year, go to
Federal (or Personal for Home & Business)
Deductions and Credits
Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Income Taxes Paid
Other Income Taxes - Click the Start or Revisit
Next page scroll down to 2023 Refund Applied to 2024
Click Start or Update by the tax you applied. To delete, change the amount to zero.
Unfortunately in the Premier version the "2023 Refund Applied to 2024" is NOT showing up as an option. I need a work around.
Are you using the Desktop Premier version? It should be there. Try again. Under Deductions > Other Income Taxes you don't get this screen? Or you can switch to Forms Mode, open the Carryover wks, go to line 8 Federal overpayment applied to next year in the 2023 column and delete it there.
@carolsprague In your first post you said you were using Premium, then you said Premier. Are you using the Online Premium version or the Desktop Premier? If you are using Online Premium scroll up. An Expert posted a screen shot from Online Premium.
