Probably because the government is so busy printing money and bankrupting America that it is intentionally delaying this form in order to delay paying out refunds that it doesn’t have the money to cover. Makes me trust this government less and less, it’s not turbo taxes fault
Then why do other tax software already have this form?
I have this feeling this is TurboTax not paying attention and not pushing a button to release this form. Until they do, each week the release date is moved out another week.

This is the 3rd year in a row it's happened. It's obviously beyond their control. If they could release 01 Feb, they would. It's a software business that relies on making customer's happy. Of course it's not intentional neglect.
Really? Since all the other companies selling tax prep software have this form ready and those customers can file, how can it be that it is beyond the control of TurboTax to have it ready for their customers?
All others? All others I would use? Two different things. In 20 years of using TurboTax I have never paid a fine or penalty. The only fines and penalties I have ever paid was when I had an accountant do my taxes and she "forgot" to add in some pension income. I think I'll wait another 4 days and not worry too much about it.
I still cant efile, its frustrating. Fist said it would be ready February 16 but it's february 27 and I still cant efile. I hope turbotax reads this message. If not available in to efile in a day or two, I'll use a different tax platform
Now it’s pushed back to March 9th!😭
That's annoying. My only gripe is why they don't make an announcement as to why. Last year it was around 17th of March, if I recall.
New date today now says 3/9/2023 until we can file.
I gave up when I woke up this morning to see it had been pushed back AGAIN to 03/09. I suggest everyone just eat their fees if they paid already and use e-file instead. It's super simple and you wouldn't believe it-- I got to file in like 30 minutes. I'm never EVER using TurboTax again. This is even after 3 blasts on twitter in hopes they could give a few more f's.
I messaged TurboTax through FB messenger and got back unhelpful responses.
TT knew Jan 1st that form would not be available in their system any earlier than Feb, and probably knew the likelihood it would be delayed till March. Instead of proactively letting customers know the form would be delayed in 2023, they let customers pay their tax fee - giving impacted customers no choice but to wait.
It may be beyond their control, but it's usually reputable to stay transparent with customers, letting them know why there are issues or delays. Like, pushing out updates via email to pending returns with this missing form with an apology / ETA - instead of having customers pay their non-refundable tax fee, then log in every day to redo the same section only to see a changed date.
Issues happen, yes. But TT's leadership team and communications/marketing dept have busted on this for the 3rd year in a row. There's never any ownership. It's lazy and inexcusable IMO.
Now it's March 9th. Argh!
This is so frustrating. I need my tax return moola. This happened last year too. So frustrating.
