2021 efiling

I keep getting an error message when trying to efile a 2021 return. It indicates that I need to download an update but when I try to do that the message says that the software is already up to date. 

Any thoughts??

Sorry you can't efile 2021 or a prior year return from Turbo Tax.  You have to print and mail it.  Just ignore the efile error message.

In the FILE tab your only valid option is to print & mail the return ... go back and choose that option then the forms needed to be mailed and the mailing instructions will be populated.

oh shoot! I thought that you could efile current year and two years back but that is fine.

Only professional programs used by paid tax pros may be able to file 3 tax years however at this time none of the DIY programs have that ability.
