Good Morning,
I have already "paid" TurboTax to e-file my NC State Return for 2022 and 2023; however I have not yet received my electronic fund check for either of those years.
Please advise.
Respectfully,
Ms Adams

@badams_taxes - do you have records from Turbo Tax (an email) confirming that the returns were actually efiled?
Also, call the State DOR - they are very helpful and ask them if they have records of your tax return and the status of the refund.

Good Morning,
No, it did not resolve my question. Is there someone from TurboTax I can contact regarding my paying for the file for NC State Return for Tax Year 2022 and Tax 2023?
Respectfully,
Ms. Adams
If you used online TurboTax software then you did not pay an extra fee to e-file the state returns. You paid for using the software. Once you file your returns and they are accepted by the IRS or state, TurboTax receives no information from the IRS or state. You have to track the refunds using the IRS refund site or the state's refund site for yourself. What have you done to follow up and see what happened to your state refunds?
Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities, There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals. Some states process returns quickly and some are very slow.
STATE RETURN
Make sure your state return was accepted: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
To track your state refund:

If you did not ask for a refund as a check to be mailed to you:
Assuming you were actually due a "State" refund (double check your state forms printout). It's on line 34 of the 2023 NC form D-400.
1) Download a full tax return, with all the worksheets, and check the routing and account number for what account the refund was supposed to be sent to (look at Part V of the NC "Info Wksht" (( and NOT the Federal Info Wksht))). Then check with your bank to ensure that is the number they use for ACH deposits. Some banks use a different number than what is on your checks.
2) Also check any monthly activity listings in any Brokerage accounts you have. A number of people have been surprised (or forgotten) that they directed the refund to their brokerage account, and not their bank.
best to simply contact the NC DOR - they are quite helpful and will answer on the first few rings.
