Overchaged for TurboTax

Who can I email or talk to about being overcharged? I paid 82.99 to Amazon, Then an additional 42.40 to TurboTax and then another 50.00 to TurboTa for doing my state taxes. At least one state tax should have been free. Any help is appreciated!

Did you buy the Desktop program from Amazon Or a code for the Online version?   This year several places are selling both.   Sounds like you bought the Desktop program but ended up using the Online version.   

Did you download and install the Desktop program?  If you hadn’t paid the Online fees I could tell you how to switch to the Desktop program before paying.   But since you paid you will have to contact support.   Maybe they can refund you the Desktop program you didn’t use.

Or if you used the Desktop program and did 2 state returns I can explain it.   Each state efile (including the first one) is $25. 2x25=$50.00.    In the Desktop program you get one free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state return (including the first one) is $25 to efile. Or you can print and mail state for free.  

How did you pay the fees?   The $40 plus tax could be the Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge to have the state fees deducted from your refund.   That could have been avoided by paying with a credit card.
