I filed my 2018 tax returns (married filling jointly) with ITIN for spouse. My wife submitted a ITIN Rescind request to IRS last year after getting SSN and IRS had completed that request confirming on the same. I filed my 2019 Tax returns (married filing jointly) with SSN of both me and my wife on Apr 15th. Federal returns was processed and I got the refund on Apr 23rd. But I still see 'Payment Status Not Available' on Get My Payment for the Stimulus.
Am I eligible for the stimulus considering I filed my 2019 tax returns using SSN?
Or
Is it possible that I'm considered not eligible since I have filed 2018 tax returns using ITIN for my spouse (even if ITIN was rescinded last year)
My question relates to eligibility:
On my taxes I marked it as I could be claimed as a dependent; However, when said taxes were done, it claimed I did not qualify to be listed as a dependent for them.
So how would that effect my stimulus, or would I have to amend my taxes in order to get said stimulus?
I received my stimulus check, and my wife did not receive hers. We file jointly.
The Get My Payment tool has shown that I was “scheduled for deposit” on April 15 since that date. Today I got the notice saying I have been paid from the IRS. The problem is I haven’t. No deposit, the bank doesn’t have any information on the deposit. The account number on the tool is the same as my bank account. I used TurboTax for year 2018, filed myself for 19. Would anyone here have any information about what could be going on? No, I don’t owe anyone money.
Only the IRS would have your answer ... maybe next week you will be able to get thru on the phone. Check with your bank ... did they refuse the deposit ?
@4300 My husband and I file jointly and we received 1 direct deposit for the both of us
I'm an adult and I was listed as a dependent of my parents all the way up to 2018.
In 2019 I started working and was not a dependent anymore, however I have not made enough to be required to file for 2019 taxes.
Even thought my parents make less than $12,000 and are not required to file, they still filed for 2018 with me as a dependant.
In 2019 they decided to not file since they are below the required income to file.
How can I make sure that I get my full $1,200 stimulus cheque, since the IRS doesn't know I am independent yet?
Should my parents and I file now, separately, for 2019? Or should we separately fill in the "non-filers form" in the IRS website before the May 5 deadline?
Yep, I’m hoping to talk to someone even if I have to stay on hold all day waiting. The automated system for the number on the notice wasn’t helpful at all. I was more curious than anything else to see if anyone had a similar issue. No, the bank didn’t refuse the deposit and they say that they have not had anything from the IRS other than my refund.

FILE A 2019 RETURN TO GET THE STIMULUS ...
use one of the IRS FREE FILE options : https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free
So me and my parents should not fill in the "Non-filers form" separately before the 5th of may?
YOU will either ...
1) file a return to get back any withholdings and thus get the stimulus
OR
2) only file the non filers form to be registered for the stimulus
Either will get you the stimulus check.
Your parents should also do what they need to do if anything ... have them read the rules for themselves:
If you have a filing requirement and have not filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019, you must file a 2019 tax return to receive the payment.
If you are not required to file a 2018 or 2019 tax return, visit Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here.
Will my 29 year old sister, who was claimed as a dependent in 2018, get a stimulus cheque?
should she file for 2019 if she's made less than 12K? or should she fill the "non-filers form"?
Hello, my question pertains to eligibility for the stimulus package as a 23 year old independent.
Preface: In my 2018 taxes, I filed and was claimed dependent. In 2019 my parent did not claim me, and I filed independent. My 2019 return was accepted on March 29, and got my tax refund by direct deposit on April 13. My mother has already received her $1,200 stimulus, even though she filed later than me.
NOW when I log in to the TurboTax app, it shows a message which says:
"The IRS has the info they need to qualify you for a stimulus payment- The IRS will either send payment to your bank account or mail you a check."
On the IRS website, The Get My Payment tool has consistently given me a "Payment Status Not Available" message when I attempt to check on my stimulus payment.
Basically... I am left wondering, am I eligible since I filed independent for 2019, but not 2018? There is no one to tell me for certain. I was in college until last year and now am working and supporting myself and would love any help I can get on this topic. Thanks so much.
Chances are the IRS will not issue the stimulus check this year ... however if you do not get it now you can get it when you file the 2020 return next year ... nothing you can do to influence it either way.
figured that could happen... thank you for your input, I appreciate it
