If i was on workman's comp last year for 5 months with a benefit do i claim it and pay taxes on it although i couldn't work?

no deduction were taken but i have the totals that i recieved

No. Workers compensation is not taxable and you do not enter it on your tax return. Just enter your other income such as the income reported on your W-2 or any 1099's
