I am using TurboTax Premier, and while it lets me enter 6 states into my w2,it does not appear on the right hand side that it will let me download 6 state programs can I?

TurboTax Basic, Deluxe, Premier, and Home & Business software lets you prepare and paper-file as many state returns as you want.
However, you can only e-file returns in up to three different states for each federal return you prepare. The rest will need to be paper-filed.
If e-filing multiple states is important to you, consider TurboTax Online; it lets you e-file and/or paper file up to five state returns per federal return.
Tip: When preparing returns in multiple states, it's best to do your nonresident and/or part-year resident state returns first, and your resident state last.
I file in two states. My issue is that the state I reside in never gets the non-resident tax form to show that I paid taxes in another state when I use e-file. My state says I owe them money until I print my Fed and both states then mail them in.
@vgadams Are you preparing the returns in the correct order? You have to prepare the non-resident return first, THEN the return for the state you live in.
Yes. Now I don't get a W-2 from my non-resident state and when I start my tax return I download my W-2 which is contains the state (Box 15) that I reside in. So I should do K-1 from my non-resident state first?
Then not sure what the problem is with your states. It is very common to have a non-resident state return and a resident state return-----have not seen any other users posting about the problem you describe. When you e-file are you watching for the confirmation emails that tell you that the state returns are accepted? Are you waiting to e-file until all the state forms are available---not trying to e-file too soon in the tax season?
My W-2 gets here by the end of January. I download it into TT. My K-1 gets to me much later. I do my Fed first then start my NRS tax return and then my RS return. I've been using TT for decades and this has been a pain for me.
OK ... you MUST complete the entire federal return FIRST before trying to complete any state return ... that may be your main issue. Once the federal return is complete the do the non resident state interview and then the state interview so the proper credit can be completed correctly usually ... of course depending on the states you may need to do this in reverse.
Which states do you need to complete ? Which is your resident and non resident state ?
I use TT H&B and will double check to do all of Fed then LA then GA.
LA and GA. GA is resident state and LA my non-resident. Should I install my LA first as my free state? GA is due April 15th and LA May 15th
