I’m receiving texts from Turbo saying I owe for 2024. I do not owe for 2024 as I paid the irs directly. Well, I clicked on a link in my turbo texts which led to “make your quarterly payment.” At the time, I thought I was making a quarterly payment directly to the irs for 2025. I submitted payment and realized I paid the wrong entity. Turbo is trying to get me to finish the process after payment. I just need a refund. I am not going further in the process as I do not owe for 2024. Turbo’s info is not aligning with IRS. I spoke with Greg(30 yrs w/Turbo) and he could do nothing beyond the troubleshooting pages on turbo’s website—although he was lovely, he was of no help. I requested refund and was denied, so now where is my money directed to? Your pockets? It should never be this complicated. I made a mistake. A simple refund would end the madness
no refund means no business from me, my partner and some others ever again. A few may make no difference to you but America is waking up and soon Americans will NOT use companies who take advantage of the ppl.

TurboTax never knows how, when or even if you paid your tax due. TurboTax only knows if the IRS accepted your e-filed return. Your online account will always show that you owed tax due if that was the result of the return you prepared using the software. TurboTax gets no feedback from the IRS after you file. TT never knows if the IRS received a payment from you.
It sounds like you -- and the CS rep -- both got confused by a marketing email. Many users have more than one account, and the "old" accounts can trigger reminder emails about filing, paying tax due, etc. If you know that you filed and paid your tax due, you can ignore those emails.
Check your own bank or credit card statements---that is your proof that you paid the IRS. And check your online account with the IRS.

What entity did you pay? Turbo Tax doesn't send you texts about paying tax due. I don't think they text you about paying anything. Sounds like it was a scam text. The only thing Turbo Tax would ask you to pay it the online fees. Or are you on the Advantage Auto renew desktop program? They might have been having trouble charging your credit card for the 2025 program.
Can you copy the text message and paste it here if it doesn't have any of your personal info on it? If you paste it you can remove any personal info.
Turbo Tax does indeed send marketing texts and emails
You are correct, I fell for the marketing ploy. Was having a slow moment. I needed help with accessing a live person or a refund bc I made a mistake. After some calls(and being on hold for 20-30 mins each time), I reached a nice lady who sent me to someone above her(although she would not give me the direct phone number). That person was able to start the refund process for me--says it could take a month to get my money back.
It should never be this hard. We can all do troubleshooting. We should have included access to speak to someone who knows more than the troubleshooting tips listed. Although, I have now reached refund status, I am disappointed that it was this complicated.
I appreciate your help
