What is delayed? If you owe the IRS you are not getting a refund. Do you mean the payment has not been taken out yet?

Or are you waiting for a refund from your state? What is delayed?

Many people are experiencing delays in the processing of their returns this year. The IRS is backlogged due to the pandemic. If you submitted your return by mail and enclosed a payment of tax you owe, you will just need to keep watching your bank/credit account for the payment to be taken out.

Balance due returns are traditionally not processed until the end of the season which for this year is 7/15 so if you sent in payment or requested a debit don't be surprised that it will take much longer to process this year.
