It says single are qualified if over 99000 don't have that as a gross so something is not right what do I do next and turbo tax did my taxes ????
@Sandra77 - are you stating your income is above or below $99,000?
the limit is based on your AGI, which is line 7 on your 2018 return or line 8B on your 2019 return. If you are single, the payment is $1200 if your income is below $75,000. After that, the payment drops by 5% for each dollar your AGI is above $75,000. So mathematically, if your AGI is over $99,000 you are not eligible for the stimulus.
Right from the IRS site :
Although some filers, such as high-income filers, will not qualify for an Economic Impact Payment, most will.
Taxpayers likely won't qualify for an Economic Impact Payment if any of the following apply:
Eligible individuals with adjusted gross income up to $75,000 for single filers, $112,500 for head of household filers and $150,000 for married filing jointly are eligible for the full $1,200 for individuals and $2,400 married filing jointly. In addition, they are eligible for an additional $500 per qualifying child.
For filers with income above those amounts, the payment amount is reduced by $5 for each $100 above the $75,000/$112,500/$150,000 thresholds. Single filers with income exceeding $99,000, $136,500 for head of household filers and $198,000 for joint filers with no children are not eligible and will not receive payments.
I know that means I should rec at least 1000 but only got 284.45 not even an even # and there is no one you can contact
@Sandra77 What is your AGI? 2018 line 7 and 2019 line 8b?
@Sandra77 - if you received $284.45 that would suggest your AGI is $93, 311.
do you think your income will be lower in 2020? the reason i ask is you make be eligible for more stimulus as part of your 2020 tax return.
2018 little over 73000
2019 little over 76000
LOOK at the form 1040 ... they use line 8b ...
@Sandra77 - and those were the AGI numbers on line 7 on your 2018 return and line 8B on your 2019 return?
doesn't seem right because if your AGI was $76,000 in 2019, the payment should have been around $1150.
suggest waiting for the IRS letter which should arrive within 15 days to understand what they did and if there is a 'dispute process'.
Same here. We filed as a married couple and we were well under 150k but only received $1046 instead of $2400!!!
@Brianmc72 - interesting! what is on line 9 of your 2019 tax return? if you received $1046 from stimulus, that would imply that line 9 is $177,080.
or if for some reason, they only recognized one of you, that would infer line 9 was $78,080????
you both are US Citizens (or resident aliens) with valid social security numbers? right?
A1. You may be eligible to receive a Payment if you:
anything resonate? otherwise, waiting for the IRS to send you a letter within the next 15 days to explain what they did is the only thing to do.
We too just got for one dependent and we have 3 kids, any ideas what we should di?!
We didn't get it for 2 of our kids what should we do
1) I assume the missing the children are all under the age of 17?
2) look at your 1040 tax form and WAY over to the right are some check boxes. Are they checked under "child tax credit" or "dependent tax credit"
3) you will be receiving a letter IRS within 2 weeks and hopefully there is a "complaint' process on that letter to follow
4) worst case scenario:
