My ES payment vouchers have "DO NOT FILE, FORM NOT FINAL" on them. What happened?

The returns are already e-filed and accepted, but the 2025 Form 1040-ES vouchers have Do Not File over-printed.

The Federal1040 ES forms are not expected to be ready to print until after 20 February.

If you are using the Desktop software, update your software on the 21st and try printing a new PDF of the  1040ES forms at that time.

If using the Online software, try creating a new PDF file on the 21st, and see if it's fixed in that.....If not, you might have to get back into your tax file,,,,then go to the Print Center to print the 1040ES forms.

_______________

If you really don't want to pay by check thru the mail...most folks just pay (Credit card or Direct Debit) on the IRS's DirectPay website.   No 1040ES required.

The first quarter 1040ES payment isn’t due until April 15 so there is time to wait to print it out.  Or before then you can get the 1040ES from from the IRS and fill it out by hand.

Here are the blank Estimates and instructions…..

Or you can pay directly on the IRS website https://www.irs.gov/payments

Be sure to pick the right kind of payment and year.....2025 estimate

Thanks for the answer. I haven't run into this form issue before because I usually don't work on my return till later in February. I'm glad it wasn't anything I did wrong. TurboTax should put a note in the beginning warning that all forms will not be final until whatever date.

But I wasn't too concerned, because I knew I could always get fresh forms from IRS or do what you suggested, file my 1040-ES online with electronic withdrawals from my bank.
