Sometimes people add extras like LIVE that are not covered by the military discount. If you have a military W-2 then your federal and one state will be no charge.
Please enter your W-2 and verify your military rank when prompted within the TurboTax Online Product (Free Edition, Deluxe, Premium). Your discount will be automatically applied when you are ready to file. There are NO discounts on any added benefit bundles, including TurboTax PLUS or MAX.
Lastly, only enlisted (E-1 through E-9) active duty and reserve personnel are eligible for the Military Discount. Commissioned officers, warrant officers, veterans, retirees and National Guard do not qualify for free TurboTax Online discount at this time.
if my original post wasn’t clear enough, I have met all requirements to qualify for the military discount. The problem that I’m having is that the discount is not automatically applying
If your discount isn't being applied, you can Contact TurboTax Support for assistance.
@oscy98 Let's try this to get that discount for you.
Go back to the Federal section and Wages & Income. Edit the W-2 you entered. Continue through the W-2 entry section and you will land on a screen labeled Let's check for uncommon situations
On that screen check the box labeled Active military duty then continue through this section until it completes.
Now go to the File section of the program to see if you are getting the discount. If you are, then Great.
If not -
You will have to contact TurboTax support for assistance with this problem. Use the key words Billing Issue
