and did u only have to do it once?
This is what worked for me to bypass the keychain password on mac
1) Click on Keychain Access then click local items and put in search button intuit to find the name that matches the error message you got and double click on the name
2) After double clicking on the name you'll get the following below. Click Access Control then click Allow all applications to access this item. Save changes.
3) Hopefully, after you save changes you will get the following below and then just create a login and you'll be able to import documents and not get the message again.
Can you try to use the FAQ link provided below and respond back here if this does not solve your issue:
How do I access my password-protected TurboTax Desktop file if I forgot the password?
This is absolutely ridiculous. Entered a lot of information and then was unable to save the file due to this bug. Lost it all. And it looks like this has been being reported by a multitude of people for almost 3 months now. Does Intuit test at all? A bug that causes data loss is the worst kind.
The workaround seems to be start from scratch, and when it says it needs the keychain password type the password, DON'T hit enter, but press "Always Allow".

Thank you for suggesting this. It worked. So disappointing of turbotax that I lost an hour of time trying to figure this out.
We are happy to hear you were able to get this resolved. Please let us know if we can assist you further.
There is no "forgot password" option in the popup.
The Mac "keychain" password is typically the password you created to sign in to the Mac computer itself.
Thank you so much! I tried several times, and finally it accepted. Now I can access the ribbon and save my work or get help. I hope others find your solution. Also, I hope TurboTax fixes this.
thx again
When I try that it wants me to enter a password
So frustrating! This worked for me:
The key is to use your Mac password (not any Intuit one) AND - CRUCIAL - don't hit "enter" or "return" but "always allow" - THAT IS WHAT FIXES THIS.
What an ordeal and a simple fix.
I tried the keychain fixes that worked for others, but they didn't work for me. This is what finally worked:
when it asks for a keychain password, enter your computer screensaver or login password and click "always allow". Do not just enter! The important points:
1.it's asking for your Mac login that you use to unlock screen.
2. try different attempts with "always allow". I'm not sure what finally worked, bc I tried so many times. LOL
Hope this helps. Sad that TT staff don't answer these desperate requests for help.
Thank you for sharing what worked for you, as this may be of help to others in the community. @mah5
