Efiling is closed for the season and most agents will not be working again until January. That is why the help is grayed out. The only way to file now is with desktop version on a MAC or PC and there is no phone support for that.
Thanks but I don't need to file. I have questions about an email I received from Intuit today (regarding the refund they said I received but didn't). The website itself is giving those times as the current hours.
Most agents do not work again until January so there will be little of no phone support available at this time of the year. Sounds like the website needs to be updated. But there is probably a skeleton crew so I would suggest trying again on Monday earlier in the day.
ok thanks
AND, if you look again.....they moved back to 5PM Pacific starting 16 October. From the following Help page, they appear to be available this weekend (19&20 Oct), but weekends will disappear after Oct 25th:
And...TurboTax never knows if you received your refund or paid your tax due. TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS after you file your tax return. So there was not an email from TT that said you received your refund. TurboTax only tells you if the IRS received your e-file, accepted it, and then gives you an estimated date for when the IRS should send your refund.
If your return was accepted, then you have to follow up with the IRS to see what happened to the refund.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
I will send you my pre-filled tax return here, if in case you did not find this pre-filled tax return, please send me SMS, thank you
@0a9z8e7r6t5y4u3i2o1p Please start your own new question. And we don't understand what you are talking about. What pre-filled return? You can't send it anywhere. So don't post it here in the forum. Did you file your tax return? Are you waiting for a refund?
@0a9z8e7r6t5y4u3i2o1p NO!!!!! This is a public website---it can be seen by anyone using the internet. Do NOT try to post any of your personal information or "pre-filled" forms here! We do not know what you are even referring to by "pre-filled" forms----but you are too late to start a new online tax return and too late to e-file a 2023 return. If you are confused by all of this, you might be better off seeking local paid tax help from a professional.
