The TurboTax Business Edition has never supported the Mac OS.  It has always been a Windows OS based program.

Sorry but Business has never been available for Mac.  The personal Home & Business version works on Mac but not Business.  Unless you run a Windows emulator program on your Mac like Parralels.

You can probably run the Windows Business program on a Mac using a Windows Emulator like Parallels. But you would have to buy a copy of Windows to install in it.   Google Windows on Mac to get articles on the various  options

One of the other users posted this, There are 4 popular products you can use: Parallels, VMWare Fusion, Oracle VirtualBox, or CrossOver. The first 3 require you to also buy a copy of Windows. The first 2 cost $50-80, the third is free. CrossOver also costs about $50-$80 but does NOT require you to buy Windows.

It worked the past 3 year on my Mac. If you don’t know the answer keep your comments to yourself.

I do know the answer.  Business has always only been for Windows.  The Home & Business version can be installed on a Mac.  Did you use a different company instead of Turbo Tax?

Do you need to prepare a 1041 Trust return or just enter a K-1 she received?

Please make a screen shot of your Mac showing The Business icons for the last 3 years on it.  You can edit your question above to attach it or use an answer box.

@hypratt - Perhaps you don't know the difference between TurboTax "Business" and TurboTax "Home & Business".   Home & Business is a Mac produce for self-employed persons that need a Schedule C. It only can do a 1040 form.

TurboTax "Business" is for estates, trusts and corporations that need a 1041 form, not a 1040 form, and there has NEVER been a Mac version of TurboTax Business for a 1041 form.  Does not exist ans never has.

TT Business is Windows only and always has been and unless the Mac gains a larger portion of the business computer market it is likely to remain that way (as of 2017 - latest stats. - the Mac US market was about 14.5% and most of that was for personal use).

@hypratt it appears that while my answer is absolutely correct, your angry comment, as with most angry comments, is erroneous.

It appears that you prefer tpo talk down to others who are just attempting to get answerts to their questions. Perhaps cyou should do another type of work.

We are just explaining that the separate Business program has never been available for Mac.  Nobody has talked down to you.  We think you are confusing the Business program and the Home & Business program.  They are 2 different things.  Or possibly you used another computer in the past with Windows.

Nobody posting here "works" for TurboTax - this is a user-to-user discussion forum, not TurboTax support.

As a Mac user since the Mac SE in 1987, I can guarantee that there has NEVER been a Business version for Mac.

I don't know where you get the impression that anyone is talking "down" to you since we are just telling you the truth whether you like it or not.   You are simply mistaken if you think that there has ever been a Business version for Mac that has 1041 forms - there has not.  Does not exist and never has.

(Perhaps you are thinking about a different company such as H&R Block or TaxAct)

Or could you be thinking of running a Windows emulator like Parallels or Bootcamp in order to run Windows software on a Mac.  That would not be a Mac version of the software but the Windows version a Mac that "becomes" a PC by using an emulator.

With the current low priced PC's, it is probably cheaper to just buy a cheep PC to run Business than it would be to install an emulator and the Windows software on a Mac.

UPDATED DEC. 2018 from  January 2013:

Hey, Look guys/gals co-MAC users - I'm just a volunteer here so if you don't like the factual answer, your best choice is call Intuit or write and complain. Calling me names does nothing

When Apple introduced Lion and eliminated the direct function calls in to the O/S, the TurboTax BUSINESS product ceased to be compatible.  They've never chosen to spend the funds on rewriting the product, nor have they made the product available online as an alternative.

Perhaps it is simply their assessment of the size of the market - MAC users.

So, the answer is NO MAC support for TurboTax Business.

    BEST ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION.

TurboTax Business, when combined with a companion state-level business income tax form component for TurboTax costs somewhere around $120 (Target, Costco with coupon) plus state $60 (must from Intuit) - lowest total online $180.  So, today you can purchase a cheap new Windows/10 based pc solely for the purpose of running TurboTax Business now and next year and that notebook will cost less!

Search results in decent notebooks from $125 and up

    ==============================================================

The alternative is to run the Windows-based product in one or another form of emulation or in a virtual machine
SEE BELOW FOR RUNNING VIRTUAL WINDOWS ON MAC.

Sorry for not being able to give a positive response.

For those who want to express their dissatisfaction with the situation, the place to file you complaint is directly with Intuit or in public media.

    •  Posting a rant here?  Well it's only other users here for the most part so a rant here may feel good but does nothing to move forward the production of a solution.

    • if you are angry at Intuit for lack of MAC support, please go rant somewhere else because I'm no more than a user just like you!
