If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2020 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.
I do not want to clear my taxes and start over in order to cancel the upgrade to premium! I had a very specific question and upgraded to get live chat and an answer. The question was specific to nonprofits. I wanted to clarify that if I forgave principle on a loan I made to a nonprofit is that considered a gift and therefore deductible. The answer provided through chat was not specific to nonprofits and therefore not sufficient as an answer. I contacted the CPA for the non profit and his answer was specific to nonprofits and was that loan forgiveness is deductible. I can send you pdfs of both replies.
Since that was the only reason I upgraded to premium I would like to not pay the extra $80 for premium. As above the only way your Q&A provided was to cancel my tax form and start over. Obviously I don't want to do that. Other than this one issue my experience with TurboTax has been great. I hope you can resolve this issue for me.
thank you.
