I keep getting rejected because I don't have form 1095-a and I only have formed 1095-b. So what do I do if I don't even have 1095-a and only 1095b? It requires me to have that form and I don't even have that form because I have only formed 1095-b. What do I do so I do not get rejected anymore for something I cannot provide since I didn't have that type of insurance.
The IRS believes you have a form 1095-A that needs to be added.
Entering/deleting a 1095-A:
If that does not solve the issue:
To delete a Form:
If the IRS rejected the return for a missing 8962 then you MUST enter the 1095-A before the return will be accepted. If you mail the return without this form it will delay the processing for MONTHS until you provide the missing form ... so do it right now and avoid the future pain.
They believe you have a 1095-A with your name on it for 2021 so check with the Healthcare Marketplace for the 1095-A form ... they have been available online since 1/6 but have not yet been mailed out. www.healthcare.gov
Maybe you had the ACA insurance for a month in early 2021 or you were on your parent's policy ... you need to get to the bottom of it.
How do you now that the think I had insurance?
I checked and I did not see any information about myself there.
When revisiting the section the default answer is still set to yes but the 8962 and 1095A are not part of the return.
If you select Yes you will be prompted to enter the 1095A information and you cannot continue leaving the full form blank as an error will be presented.
Now you will not be prompted with the yes/no question to have received the 1095A and will see your entry with options to edit/delete the entry.
Delete the 1095A entry and both the 1095A and 8962 are removed from the return.
If you revisit the section again default will be yes but the forms are removed
Now, select No, e-file your return, and if you are rejected, then the IRS requires your 1095A in the return
That was perfect!! Thank you
I've seen no specific answer yet as to where TurboTax allows you to enter your 1095-C form.
The Form 1099-B and 1099-C do not have to be entered in TurboTax.
Form 1095-B, Health insurance providers (for example, health insurance companies) send this form to individuals they cover, with information about who was covered and when.
Form 1095-C, Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage. @waltlange
Me too! I do not know what to do, it won’t let me go further says I need the info on my 1095-a from marketplace, the last application on that site is from 2020 and was neve complete so didn’t get policy numbers and stuff. Help! What do we do?
Where are you being asked for the 1095A? If you are being asked in TurboTax prior to submitting your return, you can simply skip that section. If it is giving you an error message then you can click Tools>>Tax Tools>>Delete a Form>>Delete next to form 8962.
If your return is being rejected by the IRS, this means the IRS believes you or someone on your return had insurance through the marketplace. If anyone on your return did have insurance through the marketplace, then you will need to add the 1095-A. If no one did, you will need to contact Healthcare.gov to correct the problem.
You will not be able to submit electronically if the IRS believes you have a 1095-A without adding one, which means you will need to print and mail your return if you cannot resolve the issue with the marketplace.
The same exact thing is happening to me.... I have a 1095B and its telling me that I do not need to even file that. I think I have to file by mail now since I keep getting rejected
A 1095-B is informational. It lets you know about your health coverage. You don't need it in order to file a tax return.
A 1095-A shows health coverage that was purchased through the healthcare.gov marketplace. It has to be added to your return because the government may have subsidized your health care and you may owe them money or they may owe you money.
If the computer asked you if you had a 1095-A and you said "yes" then the system now believes you had health coverage through the healthcare.gov marketplace.
If you did for any part of the year then you need the 1095-A in order to file your return.
If you did not but you clicked 'yes' by accident then you need to delete the form that was generated before you can file. Go to forms->Delete a Form-> and delete the form 8962.
If you did not click 'yes' AND you did not have marketplace coverage AND your return i being rejected by the IRS then that means that for some reason the IRS believes that you had marketplace coverage. That is a hassle. It means that you have to either file your return by mail or contact the IRS in order to get the record corrected.
Here's how to contact the IRS.
I am retired military and receive a 1095-B from VA each year. If I don't answer affirmative on the 1095-A, you state the IRS will not accept my 2022 Federal Tax return completed by you. How do I state I receive a 1095-B not A and have them accept the tax return? Please let me know as soon as possible so in can complete my return with you.

"If I don't answer affirmative on the 1095-A, you state the IRS will not accept my 2022 Federal Tax return completed by you."- who said that? As noted above, if you did not buy insurance from the Marketplace and did not receive a 1095-A, then you don't answer "yes" that you did.
"How do I state I receive a 1095-B not A and have them accept the tax return? " - there is no way to say that you received a 1095-B.
Are you saying that the IRS rejected your return? I don't understand your concern.
