Side note: I have checked all my details and it appears right to me. Now, how do I deal with this situation? Should I amend to claim again ?
You will not need to amend. According to the IRS here in questions G8 and G9, there should be a contact number in the upper right hand corner of your letter. You will use that number to make contact and have a copy of social security cards available to verify names and numbers.
You should also review questions G10 and G11 to review the dependent age and your AGI income limits.
The amount was computed incorrectly.
TurboTax determined that we were entitled to the Recovery Rebate Credit and entered the amount of $2,800 on our tax return. IRS apparently disputed the amount and deducted the entire credit of $2,800. No other criteria for Recovery Rebate Credit deduction are applicable to our situation. Did TurboTax determine we were qualified for the credit in error, or is the IRS in error? Please help.
If the IRS made an adjustment to the return, you will need to contact the IRS to see why they made the adjustment in what was input into Turbo Tax. Please follow the instructions here to contact the IRS directly. @RevBobster
