If the advance is offered to you when you are ready to file, then your refund goes on a Credit Karma card.
One of the options you can select when you are ready to file is to get a refund advance loan, You do not receive any money until your e-file has been accepted by the IRS—-and the IRS will not begin to accept e-files until January 29.

Just to add a little detail to what xmasbaby0 is saying, you should feel confident that your refund will be applied to your Credit Karma account if you worked through the following screens when filing your return:
See How can I get a Refund Advance in the TurboTax Help article What is Refund Advance? for more information.
I was also wondering this. I clicked the option that said to deposit It into my credit karma account the same as last year and I never saw anything regarding qualifying for an advance before I filed even though it said it was the option I picked last year.
Did you get your refund advance? I just did my taxes today and have gotten the refund advance the previous 2 years and this year it said file same as last year and didn't have option that said refund advance. But when I clicked more info it said that credit karma has the refund loan ability. Just wondered if you got yours early. Mine was accepted about 15 mins ago and didn't get it yet.
That sounds like what I clicked because I looked at the more info thing too. No I haven’t gotten anything that even said I was approved for one, let alone the advance itself. Mine was accepted earlier last week, even though the IRS opened yesterday.
Yeah, I think this is extremely misleading by Turbo Tax, when it says receive your funds like you did last year. Well, last year I receive a refund advance loan, and this year, I did not. This is extremely frustrating because its misleading, and because when you get Turbo Tax on the line they know very little about this situation. I'll be look ing to open a complaint with any regulatory body that will listen.
