Hello, thanks for joining us today!
Not receiving your 2022 return, meaning not receiving your 2022 refund, correct? If this is the case, you might want to check the status of your refund with the IRS. Here is the link: https://www.irs.gov/refunds
It also has a IRS phone number to contact if clarification of the status is needed. If there is simply a delay, you should receive your refund and possibly some interest with it.
I have been checking the status, it's never changed from "processing" and I've called the IRS 3 times since March after the 21 days passed. We filed on Feb. 5th and it was accepted that same day. The last two times I've managed to talk to someone at the IRS they've told me it's my last name causing the hold up, which doesn't make any sense. Twice I've been told they've put in the info to the needed dept. and we should have the refund in 16weeks,and still nothing. So, I'm just curious if the refund doesn't come in by the time we have to file for 2023, is this going to cause issues then?
@kimberlycloud201 you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate
Each year is separate. Not getting your 2022 refund will not affect your 2023 return next year. What do you mean a double return? The IRS pays each year separately.
