If you use a paid version of the software and then choose to pay the fees for your software by having it deducted from your federal refund---instead of paying with a credit/debit card before you file, there is ---and always has been-- a $40 "refund processing" fee.   That money goes to the third party bank that receives your refund from the IRS, takes out what you owe TurboTax, and sends the rest to you.

If you do not want to pay the extra fee----pay for using TurboTax BEFORE you file your tax return by using a credit or debit card.

What is Refund Processing Service?

If you want to have your regular Turbotax fees deducted from your refund (sometimes called "refund transfer"), there is always an extra processing fee.  Has been there for at least 10 years.

If you change from the refund transfer option to the direct pay option, the processing fee should be removed.  If not, you will need to call customer support.  No one on this board has access to your online account.
