Hello,
I filed my taxes and then realized then I probably needed to claim the money I made through DoorDash which I calculated to be about $300. Do I need to file an amendment? Also, am I able to file an amendment independently or do I need a tax consultant?
Thank you!
Sarah
Yes, you will need to file an amendment to your 2022 return. You can do that independently.
If you filed, it is like dropping it into a mailbox - you cannot get it back.
You'll have to wait until your return is either accepted or rejected.
To avoid unnecessary delays, do not amend until your original return has been fully processed.
You can e-file your 2022 amended federal tax return, but most states require amendments to be printed and filed by mail.
