I received one economic impact payment in January 2021 (and one more since then). Am I eligible to receive that rebate?

The stimulus check is an advance on a credit you can receive on your 2020 tax return.  If something went wrong or you did not get the stimulus check in 2020, you can get it when you file your 2020 return in early 2021

The Recovery Rebate Credit will be found in the FEDERAL REVIEW section. ( you should see "Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount”)  If you are eligible it will end up on line 30 of your 2020 Form 1040.

Make sure that you enter ALL of the stimulus money received for the 1st and 2nd stimulus for yourself, your spouse and your children.

It depends on your Adjusted Gross Income, and which stimulus payments you received.  Obviously, the one you received in January was the first of the three; however, the other payment could have been either the second or the third.  If it was the third, you may be eligible to receive the second in the form of the Recovery Rebate Credit.  You will need to determine which one it was.  You can do so going to:

First and Second Payment Status. To find the amount of the third payment, create or view your online account or refer to IRS Notice 1444-C, which we mailed after sending the payment.

If you received the full amount of both stimulus payments (Economic Impact Payments), you won’t get any additional credit on your return this year since you’ve already received the full amount of the credit as stimulus payments.

If you didn't receive the full amount for your first or second-round stimulus payments, we'll help you claim the Recovery Rebate Credit when you file your taxes this year.
