I purchased TurboTax Deluxe. I'm allowed 5 Federal returns, but after I started my first one, it won't let me start another one?

With TurboTax Online (Deluxe), you can file one federal  tax return and five state tax returns. Refer to the TurboTax Help article How many tax returns can I file with TurboTax?

With TurboTax Desktop, you can file up to five federal tax returns and three state tax returns.

this does not answer my question.  i have turbotax download and have started only one return.  when i try to start a second return turbotax shuts down

You may need to do a manual update.
