Are you using the Windows desktop version and can't launch the program?   If so, try this method.   Click the Windows Start menu, then in the list of all programs, scroll down to TurboTax 2023 and click that to try launching the program.

I bought the cd again this year, does not let you enter the activation code. How can i do this?

Follow these instructions to download the software:

1. Go to installturbotax.com.
2. Select Create an account if you don't already have one. If you do, sign in. ...
3. Enter your license code in the pop-up window. ...
4. Select your operating system, then select Get Download.
5. Download your software and install it.

If you do not have a CD Drive:

That's OK—you can download your software directly from TurboTax. But, keep in mind, you can't use both the CD and the download. You must use one or the other.

Follow these instructions to download the software:

1. Go to installturbotax.com.
2. Select Create an account if you don't already have one. If you do, sign in.
   • If you don’t remember your credentials, go to our Account Recovery page.
3. Enter your license code in the pop-up window.
   • It’s a 16-character combination of letters and numbers (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) that can be found on your CD box insert, envelope, or packing slip.
4. Select your operating system, then select Get Download.
5. Download your software and install it.
   • When you get to the Your product is installed, now let's activate it screen, enter your license code in the License code box, then select Continue to complete installation.

The license code is entered during the installation process for the 2023 desktop software.

@FISHNALLER   What do you want to know about Costco?  Did you buy Turbo Tax at Costco in the store or from Costco Online?

I'm on Windows 10. Here's how mine went.
1/3/25 Bought Home&Business from Costco online. 20 min later got email with License Code and download link. Clicked on Download link. It took me directly to Turbo Tax to download. Had to pick my product then select Win or Mac. Program downloaded.

Had to go to my Downloads folder. Clicked on downloaded .exe file. It started but stopped saying I needed Microsoft Visual C++ with an install button. I clicked on it and it installed the MS Visual C ++. Then it continued to install Turbo Tax.

Checked on the License Agreement. Clicked on Install. Minute later it was done and launched.
Sign in to Intuit Account, had to get email code to enter.
Got License Code screen. Went and copied 16 digit code from email and pasted it into code box.
Got into program.
First thing I did was check for updates. Then I always go up to Online-Updater Preferences and check Ask me before getting updates.
