I need to file previous years taxes
To file a return for a prior tax year
If you need to prepare a return for 2016, 2017, or 2018 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
For over 55 years I have filed my income taxes by hand. The IRS is pushing for on-line etc. I am trying to determine which Turbo Tax I should purchase and try. I currently file Form1040, schedules 1, 3 &5, Schedules B, C-EZ, D, Form 8949, E, F, & SE. For 2018, I filed the standard deduction. I have stocks and bonds with interest and qualified dividends, have IRAs, pensions, & annuities, receive social security, am in a family limited partnership, my wife has a small farm which a person farms and she receives payments based on the profit of sales, and I do a little consulting.
A few years back I purchased the Turbo Tax Deluxe and it did not have all the forms that I needed. I trashed it.
I would like to talk to a customer service rep to determine which Turbo Tax version I should purchase.
If you use the Online web version you will need to use the Self Employed version for all that.
If you buy the Desktop CD/Download program then you can get any version like Deluxe. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.
What year did you try Deluxe before? In 2014 they tried to make the Desktop programs to be like online versions where you need a higher version to enter investments, etc.
