What was rejected? Your original 2022 state return or your amended return? It is years too late to e-file any sort of 2022 return. A 2022 return can only be filed by mail. You have to print it , sign it and date it in ink, and mail it in to the state.
But....if the original was rejected, you do not "amend" it---you only use the "amend" process to make corrections to a return that was accepted and fully processed. So--it is important to know what you are saying was rejected.
No, you cannot do anything to a 2022 return using online software. If you are trying to change something on a 2022 return, that can only be done be using downloaded desktop software on a full PC or Mac.
If you are trying to amend your original 2022 return, you must have attempted to e-file it in 2023. When it was rejected, you received an email telling you why the return was rejected. No matter why it was rejected, the only way to file 2022 now is by mail.
I'm afraid that's not correct. It is not to late to file an amendment - proof being federal and other state amended returns have been accepted. NJ amended return was rejected. I got an email from intuit telling me I could update/fix it. But there is no option online for doing so. I suppose I'll have to contact support - I guess beyond this community the only option is calling them during business hours?
It is not too late to file an amended return if, in fact, amending is what you need to do. It is too late to e-file it. E-filing is closed for past year returns. The only way to file is by mail.
That is again incorrect. I just e-filed the amended return. 2022. It has thus far been accepted at the federal level and in CA. NY is pending. NJ was rejected.
Respectfully - telling me that what I've already done is not doable is not helpful, and doesn't add to the conversation. Which brings me back to my question. What is the best way for me to contact support?
A link to get hold of TTX Customer support is below for TurboTax consumer products (Weekdays only at this time of year):

But...we are confused as to how you were able to E-file amended 2022 tax returns at this time.....at least using the TurboTax Consumer software. E-filing 2022 now, certainly might be possible for professional tax preparers with professional software.
1) So.... are you using some other professional software? This site is not a conversation website for professional's.
2) or... are you using the TurboTax consumer version of "Desktop" 2022-labelled software you installed on your computer (Windows or MAC) to file your 2022 data and amendment...if so:
........2a) exactly when were the original E-filings accepted, and
........2b) when did you attempt to E-file the amended forms?
3) OR...did you just recently used the Online-browser-based software to E-file 2022? and then the amended 2022 forms sometime after January of 2025???? (And which version...Free...Deluxe...Premium??), ....IF you used the current "Online" software that is up and running now... then you really messed up, because the TurboTax Online software for 2022 was taken down in late October of 2023....the Online software that is being used NOW (and since January of 2025) can only be used for 2024 tax filings.
Thx - it seems like phone support will be the best option. I e-filed my '22 returns with TurboTax Online in '23. Not the free version - deluxe, possibly? I still had the option online to e-file amendments for federal and certain states (a couple others required mailed amendments). I did that. Some of them were accepted. NJ was not. Intuit sent me a notice when the NJ amended return was rejected to say that I had the ability to fix the amended return online. But in fact there is nowhere to do that. So I will contact support.
