If you have filed your tax return and then discover that you have an additional W-2 to file you will have to wait until the IRS either accepts or rejects your tax return.

If the return is rejected you will correct the error that caused the rejection, add the W-2 and refile your return.

If the return was accepted by the IRS then you will have to file an amended tax return using Form 1040X to add the W-2 to your tax return.

This link to the TurboTax Help page  How to amend (change or correct) a return you already filed provides information on how to amend your tax return.

All your W-2's should have been reported on the 2021 tax return before it was filed.

You will now have to amend the 2021 tax return to add the W-2 you received.  An amended return will take the IRS 6 months or longer to process.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a 2021 tax return originally completed and filed using TurboTax - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-2021-return/L1gEU4G3X_U...

@clar071 What?   You were supposed to put ALL of your 2021 W-2's on the same tax return and file it all together.   You do not file them one at a time.   Now you will have to wait to see if the IRS accepts or rejects your e-file.   If they reject it, you can go back in and add that other W-2 and re-file it.   If they accepted your e-file, then you have to wait until the tax return has been fully processed, and then you will have to amend it to add the other W-2.

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner.  The IRS does not allow you to take it back.

If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.”  The changes will go nowhere.

Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.

If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail  it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.

Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed.  You will get an email that tells you whether the IRS accepts or rejects the return.   Post back for further help after you get that email.
