followed instructions to change account phone number buy there is no way to edit it.  scroll in sign and security to phone number and when I click it just ask how I want to verify

kind of hard to click on "my account" at top of page when it is not there  only search and help tabs on top.  go to intuit account at left of page, and select sign and security, go to phone and select, and all it does is ask to verify to get text or call the existing number.  I need to change that number!!!!

You should see Tax Home on the left side of your screen.  This is the area that your looking for.  If you don't see it click on the 3 white lines.

1. Sign in to TurboTax and
2. select Intuit Account on the left, just above Sign Out (you may need to scroll down;
3. select the 3 white lines or Tax Home if you still don't see this).
4. Select Sign in & Security to update information like your user ID, password, phone number, or email.
5. Or select Personal Info to update information like your name, address, or job.

If you no longer have access to the phone number used to setup your account, you can update your information via our recovery form:

This request will be processed during our regular business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. PST, Monday-Friday). It may take up to 1 business day to be completed.  Once the request is processed, you will be able to use your new phone number to access your account.

If you have already filed your return and it has been accepted by the IRS, then the IRS Where’s My Refund? site is the best place to go for information.

Everything the IRS has to say about refunds is at Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.

If you read this carefully, you will see they are not making any promises.  They do provide phone contact information, but it is very difficult to reach them this tax season.
