I had to pay both state and federal taxes. I paid through turbotax. Since I went through turbotax to pay, does the IRS have my banking info? I didn't get 3rd stimulus.

Would really like to know what I might need to do to ensure I get 3rd stimulus....haven't moved and have used turbotax for years. This was the first year I had to pay federal taxes.

If your prior year returns (2019) were refunds and you entered banking information, then the IRS will have your account information on file.  If not, your stimulus payment will be mailed to the address on your tax returns.  Here is a link that you can use to help track your payments.

When I go to track the stimulus payment, it gives the info that there is not enough in information/or I don't qualify. I definitely qualify, so can I assume it just hasn't been processed yet in their system? That is where I am confused. The first two payments were based on my 2019 returns and those deposits were prompt and accurate.

The IRS issues the stimulus payments, not TurboTax. This means that we can't say for sure why you haven’t received your stimulus payment or if and when you'll receive it.

  • If you are seeing "Payment status not available",  it means that either the IRS has not yet issued your payment OR you are not eligible for a stimulus payment.
  • Although you may want to check the tool regularly, the payment status is only updated once per day.

To be eligible for the third stimulus, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Families earning less than $150,000 a year and individuals earning less than $75,000 a year should get the full $1,400 per person.
  • Families earning up to $160,000 per year and individuals earning up to $80,000 per year will receive prorated amounts.
  • One notable difference from the first two stimulus is that you will receive stimulus payments for all your dependents, including adult dependents and college students.
