Forward that email to  security@intuit.com

Unfortunately, this is a Phishing Scam and not a legitimate email. Since you clicked on the link, you may want to contact a local computer professional as now all of your data may be at risk, including your identity.  You may also want to change your user name and password to TurboTax to get them from having continued access to your account.

I got a similar text messaging from the number 885483 almost immediately after filing with TurboTax. The message said: "CRITICAL NOTICE: Your TurboTax account may be at risk. Please log into your account for details. https://turbotax.com/customer-alert/security-risk"

The URL takes me to a TurboTax help article updated in Dec 2023 and lists a few reasons why I might have received "the email" (even though mine was a text) but none of those apply to me, I don't think? I am using the same TurboTax account with the same email address, I did not change my filing status, and did not add any dependents. I'm really confused -- should I send this information to your security team?

I feel like this text was sent due to a misfiring/broken workflow, because I received it almost immediately after submitting my returns in the final step. But I want to be cautious/make sure I'm doing the right thing.

It won't hurt to send it in.
