Mac El Capitan 10.11.6 Turbo Tax premier desktop. Why can’t I type amounts into 1099-Div form? I click edit, field is highlighted but I can’t key anything in the box.

I figured it out. After I click Edit, I have to right click on the highlighted field to open a secondary window. This design is not user friendly. Just clicking on Edit should open the secondary window or an information icon should be added so the user knows what to do to open the secondary window.

You only will get the "secondary" (add detail) window if you double clicked on the original entry box in the first place.  Comes in handy when entering a single total amount but you want detailed records of the various sources of the total amount.
