If you’ve already selected to upgrade to the deluxe version and proceeded to the next page, then you’ll have to clear and start over, to make make sure you stay on the free version.

To switch to a lower-priced version of TurboTax, you can use the clear and start over feature to erase your current return and start from scratch. You can start over as long as you have not submitted payment or deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund.  Please see the TurboTax FAQ Can I downgrade to a lower-priced version of TurboTax? for additional information.
Please note: TurboTax Free Edition is for filers that use a simple 1040 with no additional schedules. If your tax situation requires additional forms/schedules, you will be prompted to upgrade.
