It's not clear what you are witnessing.   Please quote the exact message you are getting in regard to a credit card.  Or are you seeing that some credit card information has been entered?

Or is it telling you that you have to pay by credit/debit card?

 

Are you sure you qualify to pay TurboTax fees out of the Federal refund?  

In order to pay TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund, the Federal refund must be large enough to pay the product fees, any sales tax, and the additional $40 service fee for that payment method ($45 for California filers.)   Deluxe is $60 for a Federal return and $50 for a state return.   So if you had all of those things, your fee would be $150-155 plus possible sales tax.

 

That payment method also requires one to choose efiling and to choose direct deposit for the refund.

You must also not have a foreign address.

I am receiving following the following message: “Unfortunately, you’re not eligible to pay for TurboTax with your refund because your fees have already been paid for with a credit card. You can continue and pay your TurboTax fees using your credit card.”

Sorry, but I can't explain how that could happen without someone knowing that their credit/debit card has been entered for a fee payment.   If your fees have already been paid by credit/debit card,  you should be able to review the credit/debit card information.   Go through the payment section again and under the payment method see if you can pull up any credit/debit card info to see if you recognize it.

 

Otherwise, here's how to phone TurboTax Support during business hours so they can figure out what you are experiencing.
