I am getting an error that the recipient zip must be entered for 1099-int. The info on the form is right (Japan zip) but the length is different from US so I can't enter

As written above the form itself has the correct Japan zip but in the worksheet generated by Turbo tax the zip and country are blank. How can I edit the generated form to manually enter the country and zip?

Yes, enter the form 1099-int manually in the "Investments" topic since the upload is giving you errors.
