The North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return Form D-400 is not yet available for e-filing. It is estimated to be available on 02/24/2022
Go to this TurboTax website for North Carolina state forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_nc_online_individual.html
Thank you for your assistance!
Whenever you get a message stating TurboTax is not ready to efile or Transmission are not available,
it means that the Tax forms are not ready. The IRS or State has not finalized certain forms and your tax return cannot be e-filed until they are finalized and ready to be submitted.
To find out if your state forms are available, check here:
To check on IRS Form availability, check here:
Just return on the efile date give to efile your return.
As of today, all forms are Not ready to efile. North Carolina, for example, will not be ready until February 27th.
same issue with NC. so now wondering if i should follow suit with them, and just file federal and come back for state when turbo tax gets it sorted out???
I am having the same problem. After I finished my taxes and there were no errors and I tried to efile, I got the message "TurboTzx is not ready to process Tax Year 2021 for this return. I am from North Carolina. I got an email today from Turbo Tax that says I can now file but I got this message. I paid my $20 efile fee for North Carolina.
They are trying to charge me $29 for support help. I once started to do my taxes online but decided to purchase the desktop copy. I cannot get rid of my online data but could not. They think I am filing with the return I started but did not finish and purchased the CD to do my taxes. Everything went well until put could not efile because I got the message "TufboTax is not ready to process Tax Year 2021 for this return" I am not paying $29 for help because it does not work. I already got an email from TurboTax that they can now process my return.
Maybe this explains why I cannot efile. So why did TurboTax send me an email today saying that I can file my return and I went through the entire process and got the message "TurboTax not ready to process Tax Year 2021 for this return.

You were probably sent the email because the NC Form D-400 became available for printing.

This is an NC problem too. Not just RI. Guys fix your system everything for most states is in by now. Im hung up on the same issue.
I encountered the identical issue in when I attempted to simultaneously e-file Fed, GA and NC tax returns.
I went back to the "File a Return" step and e-filed the Federal return only. Success!
I next went back to the "File a Return" step and e-filed the GA return only. Success!
I next went back to the "File a Return" step and e-filed the NC return only. Failure with the following screenshot below. There is something wrong in the NC dataset.
I filed Federal
