I always use Turbo Tax on a CD. Are CD's going to be available in 2024

Not sure what you mean by "There have been so many confused/technology challenged/irate users who want a plastic CD".  What confusion? Users that want a CD are not confused or technologically challenged; they simply want a CD.  Yes, the updates are downloaded, so what? The updates are needed because the product is pushed to consumers before it's complete and all the bugs are worked out.  Users that simply want a CD already know this.  So what?

Seems to me that some are trying to convince others that it's no different, one way or the other.  But there is a difference, and that difference is loss of consumers' perceived value of purchases and mostly corporate cost (time and money), but no one is willing to say that on this thread (or probably any other thread).  I purchased TTD 2023 (CD) for under $50; TTD 2022 (CD) for under $40.  Now, TTD 2024 is at least $60 (download only) and $10 more for a CD, regardless of what is or isn't actually on the CD).  So even though TT is saving itself time and money  with "download only", there's no savings to the user.  $10 increase every year, and a premium for something that was provided for years.

Thanks for the link/list.  All 5 authorized retailers sell only the "download", not the CD.  HAHAHAHAHAHA

Right, that’s what we’ve been saying.  They only sell the download now.  But probably after everyone started complaining and want a CD you can now buy a CD for $10 AFTER you buy the download and License Code.

@crkemper360 Yes----the retailers only sell the download.  And the competitors---like H & R Block, etc. are only selling downloads this year--no CD's.

amazon shows turbotax 2024 as a cd. will they send the cd or download it to my computer,Bob

@boggsr52 You are misunderstanding something---amazon is not sending CD's.   Amazon is selling the download.   If you really want a CD, you can purchase the download and when you have your license key you can pay $10 to TurboTax to send you a CD.

Turbo tax on CD is really important for many of us who live in areas of slow, or poor, internet speeds. This makes downloads slow and difficult, and occasionally has to be repeated when incomplete. Gladly pay extra!  .

Ditto! I’m done w/Turbo Tax. Can’t supply a CD, don’t need your software. I feel like I’ve been getting screwed on my refunds anyway. I will move on.

I agree it totally sucks!

I couldn't go pass "you're not connected to internet" even though I have added to the trusted site and turned off the windows defender.  EXCRUCIAITING installation process!!! arghh

It is not the same at all. it is completely no longer user friendly. I cannot even transfer last yrs tax information into this year. I am not sure why they have finished with CD's . The price is still the same or more than last year.

If i could get it working to transfer my prior yrs info I would give a better review. But for now I am done. will look for a new tax software.
