If you have already e-filed you will need to wait until the IRS has accepted or rejected the return before you can make any changes. There is no way to add it before the IRS has accepted or rejected it.
  • If they accept, you will need to wait until return is processed and you have received your refund and then amend. If you owe them, pay them first and then amend.
  • If they reject, you can add the additional W-2 that you have and re-submit the return.
Once the 2017 amend options is available, 2017 will become a clickable link below. You can then click it for instructions on how to amend the return.

And you'll find steps on how to add that second W-2 here Where do I add or enter a second W-2? when you are ready to amend.

I’m going to make an assumption that you filed your tax return with only part of your income. You only file 1 tax return per year with all your income on that 1 return. If your current return is pending you will need to wait and see if it is accepted or rejected. If it’s rejected you can simply add the additional income and refine. Be sure to include all your 2017 income. If it is accepted you will need to file an amended return to include the restr if your income. There are instructions on TT and that will need to be mailed in.
