How do I file my federal taxes without including my state tases? thank you

When you come to the filing section you will be given the option to file only your federal return.

Why don't you want to file your state return?   You do know that the online software fee is the same whether you e-file the state or mail it in an envelope, right?

To not file state you can delete it.

Then you can add it again later.  But if you don't file state together with federal, you have to wait until your federal refund is Accepted to efile it or mail state.

And.....e-filing will close after October 17, 2022, so if you wait too long you will not be able to e-file.
