How do I File a Return? It tells me to enter a date, I enter it and then it tells me to check the date.

I'm trying to file my 2020 taxes, yes I know I'm late a year. I paid $80 for the 2020 deluxe edition downloaded it and went through everything and now I'm on the "File" -> "File a Return" menu where I just need to enter my First name, Last name, and the date. It tells me to enter "12/31/2021" and I entered into the box "12/31/2021", can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

Sorry you have to print and mail prior year returns.   Ignore any error messages about Efiling.

@brooktaxaccount What software did you use to prepare the 2020 return you are trying to file?   The current online software can only be used for a 2021 return.   If you used it for a 2020 return it is all wrong.   You have to use the CD/download for 2020 to prepare a 2020 return, and since e-filing is permanently closed for 2020, that return has to be printed, signed and mailed.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
