I'm still missing a necessary tax document to finish my taxes, what should I do?

Hello Lauryl:
It's frustrating - I recommend you get your IRS transcript to see if any of the necessary documents are on file with the IRS: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
You may be able to contact the issuers of the documents directly to get the forms - sometimes you can get the amounts over the phone/on-line - ie. savings account interest.
Happy Wednesday.
You have not mentioned what kind of document you are missing, so it is difficult to advise you. Online tax preparation and e-filing will close down after October 15, so if you miss that deadline you will have to use the downloaded software on a full PC or Mac to complete your 2022 return, and it will have to be mailed. So... your options are to file by the deadline without the document -- which will cause your return to be incorrect---and then submit an amended return later. Or....just wait and prepare the return correctly using the downloaded desktop software and file it by mail when you have everything.
You do know that if you had an extension you were supposed to pay your estimated tax due by April 15, right? If you did not do that, you will be subject to late penalties and interest, which will not be calculated by TurboTax; the IRS will calculate those amounts and bill you when they receive your return and your payment for the amount as shown on your tax return form.
