Turbotax says (in filing for a federal extension) that "You don't need to file an extension for Georgia. Your fereral extension also extends your state return. Georgia has no income tax, so you don't need to file a state extension." However, it appears that Georgia does have a state income tax. Is Turbotax in error?

Can you send us a screen shot of the page where you are seeing that----or a link to the page?
And...yes, GA has a state income tax. It is too soon to request an extension for 2024 returns----there is not a way to do that online right now, so it is puzzling that you are even seeing anything about that.
Where did you read this? Georgia has always had a personal income tax.
Or...maybe you missed soem of the texet. maybe it is saying:
...you don't have a Georgia income tax due.....???
Meaning you have a GA refund indicated?
Sometimes you don't have to file a state extension if your state forms indicate a "refund".
But true, I don't know GA rules on that.....that and you do need to have virtually everything already properly entered.
